Spinning/Cycling

Spinning/Cycling is an aerobic exercise that takes place on a specially designed stationary bicycle. As you pedal, the instructor talks you through a cycling workout: Spinning/Cycling burns serious calories (about 450 in 45 minutes) and offers an awesome aerobic workout that makes your heart pump fast. It also tones your quadriceps (front thigh muscles) and outer thigh muscles like nobody's business! And although you follow the general instructions of the spinning teacher, you are in control when it comes to your pace.
Arrive five minutes early for your first class so your instructor can answer any questions and help you with your bike adjustments. . During class, be sure to let your instructor know if you are having trouble with the resistance knob or the general technique.
TRX
Created by a former Navy Seal, these unique exercises using three dimensional motion and your own body weight provide a one of a kind workout that benefits everyone from the person trying to get in shape to the hardcore competitive athlete.

Zumba® fuses hypnotic latin rhythms and easy to follow dance moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away. The goal is simple: to work out and to love working out. Zumba® Fanatics achieve long term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exhilarating hour of caloric-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life! Anyone can do it and it’s fun for all levels of fitness—you just gotta try it to believe it!

Common Questions About Why To Join Ninth State Fitness Gym
Q: Why should I join a Gym when I can workout at Home?
A: Although people always have good intentions to workout at home, the fact is most people do not because there are too many distractions at home. The phone may rings or a family member may interrupt. Plus, there's always some chore or job that needs doing at home.. as well as the luring comfort of the couch and television calling. When you are at Ninth State Fitness Gym, you are there to workout and workout only. No phones, no chores, no couch - just you, the equipment, and your workout.
Q: Is a Gym Membership worth the money when I can just get my own stuff?
A: Sure, you can buy your own fitness equipment, but keep in mind that fitness equipment is like many other things – you get what you pay for. At Ninth State Fitness Gym, you can be a member for 10 years straight and still not have paid as much as you would if you bought just one of our treadmills or Arc Trainers. Plus, a membership gives you access to all the other equipment at the gym, as well as use of new equipment when we add it. Wouldn't you rather have an entire room full of different fitness equipment than just one 10-year old treadmill?
Q: When will I find time to workout?
A: How much time do you need to workout? How about 30-45 minutes. That's it! Recent studies show that working out 30-45 minutes 3-6 times a week at a fairly vigorous rate can truly reduce health risks to our bodies and even lower our body's true age by 10 years or more. So what's 30 to 45 minutes? A sitcom on television. Less than a quarter of a football or basketball game (real time). The commute time to and from work. With all the time we spend on every other aspect of life, doesn't our body and health deserve at least 30-45 minutes three to six times a week?
Q: How do I start working out? What do I do?
A: The first thing you need to do to start working out is just that... START! That's the hardest part - making the decision to begin. Once that is over, one of our Ninth State staff members will be happy to provide you a tour of the gym facilities and show you how to use all the equipment. If you want a more specific workout routine, Ninth State also offers Personal Training, in which you work one-on-one with a Personal Trainer in one hour sessions developing a specific workout regimen designed specifically for you. In addition, Ninth State also offers a variety of fitness classes and Boxing programs for all individuals, men and women ages 14-65+.
